Hidden water

Damage can be done by water that has both what you can see and what you can’t see. The potential for hidden costly repairs is greater if not handled in a timely manner. SERVPRO of Burlington can help limit these costs.

Sitting room flooded, Mt. Union, IA

SERVPRO of Burlington was called to a country home after a broken pipe was found in the kitchen area close to the sitting room.  This is the room in the home where most of the water sat.  The water had been about 1" deep and had affected all the furniture in the room also. Before the dry down could start, we had to remove all of the furniture and take it back to the shop for repair.  We set up axial air movers and dehumidifiers.  After dry down, we brought the furniture back and everything looked great and "Like it never even happened."

Bathroom, water loss, Grandview, IA

SERVPRO of Burlington was called to a home where there was a boiler system that had been leaking for a few months.  The homeowner lives out of state and only visits the home every few months.  This is one of the bathrooms that was affected.  The red tint to the damage is from the stain on the woodwork from the trim and hardwood floors. It was all very saturated with water.  Before the dry down could start, we had to demo most of the damaged areas due to water and mold intrusion.  After that was complete, we set up axial air movers, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers.  After dry down and reconstruction, the bathroom looked brand new and "Like it never even happened."

Containment box, Burlington, IA

SERVPRO of Burlington was called to a water loss at a downtown private bar.  A pipe had frozen in the ceiling, burst and saturated the hardwood floor, wood bar, drywall, trim and ceiling.  The owner wanted to save the flooring.  We had to create a drying chamber so the equipment would be more concentrated in this area.  With the use of dehumidifiers and axial air movers, we were successful at getting this flooring dry.  The owner was very pleased with our success and refers us to anyone who asks who returned their bar back to "Like it never even happened." status.
